I couldn't resist the temptation to make a 2nd version of my Dali caricature.

For my Dali I made a lot of preparatory sketches. Sometimes it comes naturally, but sometimes it takes a lot of trial and error. You have to keep going until you get it right. That's part of it.
 These are just some of my try-outs, there were more!

And sometimes you create a choice problem that way. This sketch, for example, was too successful for me not to continue with it.
 So I decided at some point that I would make a 2nd version of my Dali caricature...

I started inking the head, just to see the result.

But then I wanted to add those 'curlers' again,... those paint tubes I mean :-)
  Also opened the mouth a bit to give him more of that dazed Dali look...

Now with a frame around... Finished!
 Most artists would now also color it. But in those days I rarely got around to coloring.
 Once the drawing was finished, it was usually over for me. On to the next!
